First dance

The tradition of the first dance is a long-celebrated one, and for many years it was always a waltz. In recent times, however, far more variation has emerged in the type of track used, with many couples now choosing to take dance lessons and have the whole experience professionally choreographed.

The first dance at your wedding is a very special moment to be remembered and treasured. My main piece of advice regarding the first dance would be... don't rush it! I have often found that newlyweds get understandably caught up in trying to make sure everything runs precisely to time, and sometimes this will result in them wanting to rush the first dance so as not to fall behind schedule. Indeed, far too often the photographer will also try to persuade the bride and groom to do the first dance early, as this tends to mean his job is done and he can go home! However, remember this is your moment, and it's an important one. Do it when it feels right, when you're ready. It's something you'll remember for the rest of your lives.
