Uplighting/ Mood lighting

Also known as Ambient Lighting & Architectural lighting

	The use of uplighting can dramatically transform a venue and give it a much "warmer" look and make a "nice" room look extremely elegant. If the venue for your event has plain white walls the use of uplighting is the perfect way to decorate it and instantly enhance the atmosphere. The effect is created by using a series of "LED Par-cans" around the room, with the lights on the ground pointed up so that the beam of light shines up the walls. The lights are all connected to a controller which gives control as to the colour used.
Any colour of the rainbow can be selected, for example to match the decor of the room or the bride might choose a colour that matches her flowers or bridesmaids dresses, such as a certain shade of pink or purple.

At many events one colour is chosen and the room is "washed" in that colour during the meal and then during the evening when the disco commences the lights are set on "Sound to Light" which means the lights change colour to the beat of the music and which really contributes to the atmosphere in the room. I can set the lights to virtually any colour in the spectrum
There are a couple of reasons I use LED par-cans as opposed to the much cheaper traditional par-cans. One is that the LED type do not get hot as opposed to the conventional type which get very hot and thus can be a little dangerous to little hands which are always attracted to lights of any kind.

	Another reason is that a traditional par-can has a white bulb and so to change the colour you have to physically change the gel (plastic coloured film) for each colour you want. Whereas the colour on an LED par-can can be changed as easily as flicking a switch, or can be set to smoothly fade between a huge variety of colours at whatever speed is desired. LED lights are also very light in weight and use far less power so are much more eco-friendly.
Uplighting is also perfect to highlight a particular feature such as a statue or architectural features such as alcoves and columns.
	Price of Uplighting The cost of the uplighting is just a fraction of what most people spend on flowers and other room decor but when this is done properly it can impact the ambience of a room far more than any other effect/decoration. Uplighting is priced at £250 for the whole room. Also known as Ambient lighting, mood lighting, up lighting and up-lighting.
